When standing at such a picturesque location you can't help but be draw-in by the gorgeous atmosphere, the calm but vibrant feel to the town. As some may know this is my favourite location to photograph, not only has growing up here added a sense of personal exhibition but it has such a classic understanding of life and that is shown in the scenary.

For someone who is not a early morning person it is great when you wake up late and the fog is still lingering. The weather was relatively warm with what looked like 100% cloud cover and no wind so I headed to Richmond, while most people were at work I had the freedom of the Borough so to speak...

Finding the country lanes just of Junction14 on the M4 are immediately pleasing, the narrow roads and fields on either side, the ups and downs and lanes that are not fit for a lowered BMW! A couple of iconic photography locations in London that I like, while trying to steer away from the common shots we see so much of these days. Photography in London has become harder and harder to find unique views with so many people taking shots of our lovely city from all sorts of angles, I tend to see the same shots of London 100 times over but taken by different photographers, I for one can't resist a Big Ben shot at sunset when I'm stuck for ideas!

One of my favourite foods is a decent curry, Indian, Thai or English! I also love to cook and my kitchen is filled with spices from Cinnamon to Cumin to Cloves and Cardamoms. So I have had this idea of a spice cocktail filled with a flavour explosion so initially I set up the glass and filled it based on my unique recipe for a delicious curry. I used a simple photosweep with a matte black acrylic sheet, camera set to a 10 second exposure while using a mini softbox to light paint the object taking several varied shots and combining them later in Photoshop.

Blue Hour Photography
By Leigh Cousins 03/02/2016

Twilight, also known as blue hour is one of my favourite times of the day. It can occur before sunrise and after sunset, for this we will be concentrating on after sunset. I see a lot of photographers and people in general spend time during 'golden hour', watching the sun set as the colours turn from yellow to orange and if your lucky... an amazing pinky purple red! Then they move on as if the show is over.
The 30-45 minutes or so that follow sunset are some of the worlds most beautiful sights and the way it affects our earth is phenomenal....
