Seaford Head, Splash Point

When you arrive in Seaford you are immediately drawn to the chalk cliffs, I took a moment here to anylyse what I was about to do... walk up and over that cliff! It doesn't look to bad until you start off and 30 minutes later you are still looking up, it took about 1hr 30min to reach the summit.

The Seven Sisters From Seaford Head
By Leigh Cousins 20/03/2015

As I started the descend down Seaford Head and towards Hope Gap I was pleasently surprised to see The Seven Sisters chalk cliffs in the distance. Small moments like this make you realise the beauty of England's unspoilt coastlines. The Seven Sisters are located within the South Downs National Park, between Cuckmere Haven and Beachy Head.

Hope Gap Panoramic
By Leigh Cousins 20/03/2015

When finally arriving at the bottom of Seaford Head you are confronted by Hope Gap, a dodgy looking stairway down to the coast. My timing couldn't have been better as the tide had just gone out and I knew I had 4-5 hours before it came back in. This shot is a 3-Shot panoramic from the top of the stairway, not a single person to be seen!

Solitude At Low Tide
By Leigh Cousins 20/03/2015
Canon 650D 18-135 STM 22mm 6secs F11 ISO100

As I made the cautious decline down the steps I made my way right (west) around the cliffs. A lot of rock hoping is needed here to progress and some of the rocks are very slippery due to the green seaweed but I eventually found a lovely area with some nice rock formations, from here I set up my camera and spent a couple of hours waiting for the sunset which never came!
Not a single person, car, plane, train or automobile in sight, only the sound of the waves... Pure solitude.
