Kingston Upon Thames in South-West London, it overflows with character and prestige. The name means 'the king's manor or estate' and belonged to the king in Saxon times, it was the ancient market place were Saxon kings were crowned dating back to 838.
Kingston Bridge, first constructed around 1190, was one of the only crossings over the River Thames. It later collapsed
and was rebuilt in 1825 for a measly sum of £26,000.
I attended college here for 2 years and with that came many evenings in the bars and restaurants along the riverside. The people, the lifestyle, the idea of simple living is obvious and takes very little time before you attune to the surroundings.
